A hill country favorite

2 of 4 people found the following review helpful
If you ever have a spare moment, it's worth the drive out to Driftwood to this great icon of hill country BBQ, an Austin favorite. Everything is outstanding.

No beer is served, it's all BYOB, so pack your cooler before you come. Be prepared for a lengthy wait if it's a nice night or holiday weekend, but enjoy the country air and lovely ambiance of the huge patio area.

Huge portions for both meat and sides will leave you stuffed for your drive home. Pick up a shirt while you're there, this one's worth remembering.

Awesome escape from East Texas BBQ

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
Need a taste of the hill country? Rudy's is a life saver. Mostly located along I-35, this is a little escape from East Texas BBQ. Excellent meat, excellent sides, outstanding sauce with a bit of spice with a great, roomy atmosphere to dine in.

I usually go for the sliced beef by the pound and share with whomever I'm with. Make sure to get plenty of bread and a Shiner to top it off.

...and don't be scared that they advertise themselves as the "Worst BBQ in Texas".

The original Bodacious

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful
This was the Bodacious that started it all. It's location has helped it survive for years. LeTourneau University students can be found grabbing an off-campus meal for cheap. LeTourneau Technologies Inc. workers also frequent this little dive.

The chopped beef is perhaps one of the most popular Bodacious meals at this location. In years past, the food quality has been top notch. Quality has been lacking lately.

The meat has turned from lean and full of flavor to very fatty and greasy. Other locations, however, have maintained their quality and cleanliness.
