Blacks is one of the top three Barbecue restaurants in the country. The building has the ambiance that a barbecue restaurant should have.The staff is very friendly, and treat you like family.
Stopped on way to Austin to visit friend. Had heard some pretty good things about BBQ there. Could instantly smell the BBQ from outside. Nice little family place inside. Made you feel at home as soon as you enter. Tried the smoked sausage, brisket and ribs. I'll start with sausage. I've eaten at bbq places all over the U.S. and by far is the best tasting sausage i've eaten hands down. The sausage is beef with alittle pork added found this out after asking. The pork is a good touch which helps with the sausage keeping in moist instead of some of the dried out sausage i've had at some other dinners which some times use all beef sausage. Brisket had a nice smoke ring and great flavor. You can tell that the cook and owner take pride in every meat they are cooking. The ribs were falling off the bone, had great smoke flavor and they didnt kill the meat with an over top amount of spices ont he rub. If you are with in 50 miles of Lockhart I recommend you take a look at this BBQ. You wont regret it.
